What is an FTE?

FTE is an abbreviation for Full Time Equivalent. This is a workload which comprises 1,800 working hours a year. So for one person working full-time, this could be his or her job 'hours'. These hours could also be filled in by several people working part-time and together fulfilling the 1,800 hour workload. So, this could be two people half-time (50%), or even 5 people 10% and one person 50%.
