== Competition on creativity ==__NOEDITSECTION__
In the game we do have two types of competition:
* the commercial competition in the market of your hotel trying to make profit and beating the competitors. More on the page market competition
* the competition in the game. You are playing this game with a build in ranking, a competition as well! There are two rankings on which you can focus in this game.
** Competition on net profit: per year and cumulative after a number of years played.
** Competition on creativity: per year and cumulative after a number of years played. More information down here.

The ranking in this competition will be effectuated by the creativity marks. You will get these marks for the competition by doing innovative and creative things. This sounds a bit vague: how exactly can you do this? Well, it's partly up to you and your coach might give you some hints.

== Do we have to compete in the game? ==__NOEDITSECTION__
In the market you have to compete. Every team will always automatically participate in both competitions (on profit and on creativity): it is up to you if you consider this a specific goals for your team. Of course a competition is fun, but some teams choose to run their hotel in a proper way without caring to much about the competitions, which is just fine. Still, of course you will always have to be competitive and distinguish yourself from the competitors. So a fair amount of creativity is always needed. <br>
You can end the management game with good results without winning any competition as long as you meet the requirements we have set for the game. And you can do very well in the project and have a beautiful hotel, a good strategy and a lovely logo etc. and still not be in the top three of your competition and city. So a good ranking contributes to your marks, but a bad ranking doesn't have to be bad news for your evaluation at all.
Your evaluation of the total of the game depends on much more then just the ranking: the most important thing is consistency and living up to your strategy.

But if you are really in to competing on creativity, you can do this be trying to be an innovating and creative team. But don't forget, as stated before: your main task is to keep (make) the hotel financially healthy and to keep it independent anyway.

== Competition on creativity == __NOEDITSECTION__
The competition on creativity means that we make a ranking every operational year in all of the cities. All of these rankings reflect only the situation in that city, as the markets are not connected. So if you compete in the city of Amstelburg, and there are 10 teams playing, the ranking of the top three only will be revealed. This ranking will be made for <br>
- the creativity mark given in any operational year <br>
- on the basis of the total of all of the creativity marks over all of the years played.<br><br>

This means that you can have a very creative year two, but your year one was less creative and not innovative at all. This could mean that your overall position in the ranking might not benefit that much by this one year result. Of course, this also goes the other way around: just one brilliant creative idea can make a team clime several places in the creativity competition.

After each year this top three ranking will be announced by the coaches and visible on your teamsheet. <br>
The team with the highest added up creativity mark in any city after all of the years played will win. <br>
The final winner of the competitions of all of the city's will gain the creativity award.

Of course you are not alone! So it is all in perspective: if all teams are very creative, you have to be even more creative to be outstanding and to attract the customer in this way (see page on competition)! And the prisoners dilemma is something to keep in mind.

== How to earn a high creativity mark? ==__NOEDITSECTION__
All teams gets a creativity mark in each year. Each year is rewarded separately from 1,0 to 10. The highest total of these marks after all 4 years wins the competition in that city!  <br>
You can earn a high creativity mark by being creative, innovative and explaining this to your coach in the
explanation which you give on your decisions each year.
So what can you do? <br>

<u>Activities on the platform</u>
* Your strategy, name and logo.

<u>Activities live</u>
* Your booth and activities on the Trade Fair.
* The Three Minutes of Fame contribute to this part.
* Behave like an entrepreneur

<u>Social media</u>
* Creativity on the web and social media offers all kind of opportunities

<u>The Hotel itself</u>
* Innovations in and on the product, the distribution etc.<br>

Always keep in mind that the creativity should be in line with the total strategy of your company!

== Overall winners on creativity of this game ==__NOEDITSECTION__
We have told you before that there is no interaction between the cities: that much is true.
But when all of the hotels have finished there competition in there city there will still be one overall winner
* on net profit: the team with the highest profits reserve after all of the years
* on creativity: the team with the highest added up marks for creativity after all of the years.
All results on both competitions will be announced by your coaches in a presentation and will be, after releasing the results, be visible on your teamsheet. See Key metrics for an explanation.
