Crisis Management

This part puts you in a special unexpected situation, hotel management may sometimes find themself. You have to solve the crisis situation with the minimum effect on your business..

Situation

As in reality, unexpected things will always occur: sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad. As a management team you have to be prepared, but even more important, you must act. All eyes will be on the management team with regard to steps to be taken. In crisis situations, there is often no clear road map on what to do and how to act.The information concerning the crisis situation will be delivered throughout year 2. Be alert for all relevant communication channels to get updates. Also be opened to your crisis communication for the publics.

Goal

It is important to be prepared for the crisis situation. Make sure that you have studied the crisis management in advance. Make sure that you are committed and express empathy. Hotel management needs to make their best to avoid crisis, but when it occurs, they need to make their best to minimize the damage. You also need to be opened regarding the communication.

Task, deliverable

You need to submit a report, including:

  • What were your hotel management preparations for the possible crisis management
  • Identification of the crisis situation and possible damage
  • Sub-goals for solving the crisis
  • Action plan for handling the crisis
  • Activities to avoid the similar situations in the future
  • Estimated effect on the business
