Requirements for pictures and photo's
Most camera's now make pictures of 10mb or more: on the web this is of no use, in the platform of the game also not. Pictures of 150kb will do just fine and keep the platform quick. Bringing back any pictures of photos to a lower format (less MB's) is called shrinking. To keep the platform quick you obey a few rules:
- The maximum size of your photo's and pictures to maximum 150kb!
- All pictures and photo's must be .jpg Not only in name but in format, so save then as .jpg.
- Pictures or photos can also not be more then 600 broad or 500 pixels high. This is no problem, normally, because this is rather extreme for pictures of 150 kb.
- Reducing the size of a picture by dragging the corners to a smaller picture is NOT reducing it's size. This is just visual. The picture will still be 2 mb or what it was.
Software
Handy program to do so is ShrinkPic. After choosing high compression this software will reduce the (jpg.) pictures in the background on uploading them.
This free software can be downloaded from this link and lot of other sites.
There is very many other programs (Paint, Corel Draw, Irfanview) which can do the same. Please shrink before you upload!
Using Shrinkpic?
Pay attention! As this software is automatically active on using the pc it brings back all pictures you send etc. to less then 100kb. If you do not want this,
you have to deactivate (right hand corner, below) the software at these moments. Or remove it after the game.
Camera setting
You can also change the camera setting for just the pictures you want to use for the platform, that is also an option.
