Your tasks during the game week
Tasks during the game week 11, Wednesday 13th March - Sunday 16th March
All the sessions during the game week are very useful and compulsory (and often fun, of course). Tasks 1 to 4 should have been done in the time before this week: see Game_09DE_home.
- Task 5: Monday 2th February (year 01) - Preparations
The start.
> 09.00 - 11.00 Registration & welcome
> 10.00 City Ralley
> 13.00 Lunch break (Turmberg)
> 15.00 Official opening and Kick-off
> 16.00 - 17.30 Meet with your team, work on team page (top of the page shows a link to your team page). Be sure it is ready by the end of the day. Be sure to bring down the size of pictures or photo's used to 150kb. Use for instance the tool shrinking pictures.
Check your teamsheet and experiment with filling in decisions.
> 17.30 - 19.00 Prepare the Trade Fair: be sure to have all things ready and set for tomorrow! Look ahead to the rest of the tasks.
> 19.00 Deadline for teampage on the platform and for your hotels name in your teamsheet. You can upgrade the teampage later-on, but it should be ready now. Maybe handy to check this video on filling out your teamsheet:

> 19.00 Get-together (KarlsCafe). Participation of all team members mandatory.
- Task 6: Tuesday 3th February (year 01) - Day of Creativity
On this first day your team will demonstrate its creativity and thereby present the new hotel in a more promising strategic direction, as well as distinguishing your hotel from your competitors.
> 09.00 - 10.00 Meet with your team, work on decisions and explanations.
> 10.00 Deadline for handing the assignment for year 00.
> 10.00 - 11.00 AGM: results year 00, instruction on year 01.

> 11.00 - 11.30 Round table on the Trade Fair.
> 11.30 - 14.30 Preparations for Trade Fair, work on decisions.
> 14.30 Deadline for decisions and explanations both in your teamsheet for year 01. Read the page secret link teamsheet and fill your decisions out. You will absolutely have to read the page decisions as to get a grip on things.
> 14.30 - 16.00 Participation in Trade Fair and presenting your new hotel on the Trade Fair and work on your assignment. Participation of all team members mandatory.
> 16.00 - 18.00 work on the assignment in question number 15 in your explanations form and look ahead to the rest of the tasks.
- Task 7: Wednesday 4th February (year 02) - Day of Calculations
Analyze the results, the operational costs made and the key indicators for your hotel. On this day, focus on the calculations a manager often has to make. "Financial language" is key in the hotel sector. Further, linking these to benchmarks is crucial to profitability. After receiving your first results (on year 01) you need to study them, in order to decide on how to react in the next year.

> 09.45 - 10.45 AGM: results year 01, instruction on year 02.
> 10.45 - 11.45 Input session “Financial Planning” (Kai Holschuh).
> 11.45 - 12.30 Questions and coaching.
> 12.30 - 16.00 Analysis of the results, make new decisions etc: work on your social media and website.
> 16.00 Deadline for the decisions and explanations in explanations form for year 02 both to be done in your teamsheet. Work on the assignment in question number 15 in your explanations form. You will absolutely have to read the page decisions as to get a grip on things.
> 16.00 - 17.00 Open Café
> 17.00 - 18.00 Look ahead at the rest of the tasks.
> 18.00 Tram ride through Karlsruhe.
- Task 8: Thursday 5th February (year 03) - Day of Managing the Company
The managing of a hotel relies heavily on the ability to communicate with customers as well as your staff, in any situation. The hotel management will need to stay focused and play its role all week.
> 09.00 - 10.00 Meet with your team, work on decisions and explanations.
> 10.00 - 11.00 AGM: results year 02, instruction on year 03.
> 11.00 – 11.30 Roundtable “Management Under Pressure” (all coaches).
> 11.30 – 12.00 Questions and coaching.
> 12.00 - 16.00 Resolve management issues; pricing decisions, adjust team page, work on your social media and website, make new decisions!
> 16.00 Deadline for decisions and explanations both in your teamsheet for year 03. Work on the assignment in question number 15 in your explanations form. You will absolutely have to read the page decisions as to get a grip on things.
> 16.00 - 18.30 Prepare for the 3 Minutes of Fame, and look ahead to the rest of the tasks. Tomorrow is going to be a really packed day!
- Task 9: Friday 6th February (year 04) - Day of Promotion
On this day your team will show how to sell its services and make hotel promotions attractive through the use of internet and social media. The competitions finish today. Final results will be determined and the teams with the most profit and that were the most creative will be awarded.

> 09.00 Assignment year 03 has to be ready (question 15).
> 09.00 - 10.00 Central meeting: results year 03, instruction on year 04
> 10.00 - 11.00 Team preparation of 3 minutes of fame. Coaches available for feedback and questions
> 11.00 Deadline team deciding on decisions and explanations both to be done in your teamsheet for year 04. Work on the assignment in question number 15 in your explanations form.
> 11.00 - 12.00 Team presentation of 3 minutes of fame: all members are in all of the time. Take note of the assignment (question 15, year 4) on this.
> 12.00 - 13.30 Last details on your assignment (year 4, question 15). Deadline 13.30.
> 14.30 - 15.30 Game Final: Award Ceremony
- Task 10: Assignment
The assignments consists of question number 15 in the explanations form during all four rounds. It is important for your final mark. You will have to finish this in your explanations form. Deadline Friday 13.30.
