What can you do?

In the game you have a number of possibilities to influence your hotel.

• This platform on which you have a teampage (for instance 06NL-A01). On this teampage you present your strategy and for instance the links to your social media. Anyone can read all on this platform. Only after loging-in you can edit your own teampage.
• The social media (which you link to your teampage)where you can communicate with different targetgroups
• Other live actions of your team: sometimes required, like the Trade Fair but maybe also your own initiative.
• The secure section: only accessible with your private link, any hotel has its own code. In this secure section your hotel has its own teamsheet with:
  • a decisions section to make financial choices each year
  • the explanations form, decision number 14 in which you explain your financial decisions each year: very important.
  • the results section where your hotel finds its results after each year, after this has been released by your coach.

Your hotels teamsheet in the secure section

Look at the screenshot below: this is what you will see in the secure section: your hotels private teamsheet.

This example is the teamsheet of team A01 Amstelburg 01. In this example we have filled out all of the years. Of course if you start you will only see the prologue, (year 00), the history, filled out with decisions from the past.

Explanations in every year

All decisions in all years must be backed-up by explanations. In the secure section you will find the link to the explanations form at decision 14 on the tab decisions.

Explanations form.

In this so called explanations form you explain very explicitly every year why you took the decisions your team took. You also fill out, as a back-up please do not forget, the decisions themselves as well. So the decisions are to be filled out in the teamsheet (tab decisions) AND in the explanations form. Make things smart, make calculations and refrain from general remarks like 'we think this is interesting'or 'a lower price bring more customers'. Be sure to calculate with the new price to prove that if the new, lower (or higher) price works out, this will rise the occupancy rate and so the revenues. In the end this will bring more profit because.... and calculate this.
All your explanations will stay in this same document, which is a Google online text file. All your teammembers can work in the same file all of the years (even at the same moment). All you do is saved automatically all the time in this document there is no save button :-)

If a year has passed, leave that section with explanations in: do not change it anymore and jump to next year. All of the years the questions asked are the same. Please put in (hyper)links to sources and for instance social media. Put in pictures and photo's if they support your remarks (just be sure that they are not too much mb's!). The explanations form is also private to your team, keep that in mind.
The explanations form will look somewhat like the picture underneath. Keep in mind that the form you get might look a bit different.

Your mark and occupancy

The explanations form is very important in every year because

• your occupancy (and profit) depend on your decisions but even more on your explanations in this form! This will be judged by your coach.
• the gameplay mark you get every year, depends heavily on these explanations as well.

Your explanations show that you are really managing the hotel in a proper, well-thought over manner. Leaving this out just means filling out numbers and guessing and will for sure bring down your occupancy and result in a low gameplay mark.
