Tasks during the game week 40, Monday 30th September - Friday 4th October
All the sessions during the game week are very useful and compulsory (and often fun, of course).
- Task 5: Monday 30th September (year 0) - Preparations and strategy
> 09.00 - 13.00 Meet with your team, work on team page (top of page link to your city); be sure it is ready by the end of the day. Be sure to bring down the size of pictures or photo's used to 150kb. Check shrinking pictures.
> 13.00 - 14.00 Central Kick off! All in, your staff is available for questions.
> 13.00 - 16.00 Check and fill out your teamsheet your teamname and experiment with filling in decisions. Work on your teampage. Check the videos help files on working on your teampage: Help:How to edit your teampage | Help:How to upload a photo | Help:How to make links
> 13.00 - 16.00 Prepare the Trade Fair: be sure to have all things ready and set for tomorrow!
> 16.00 Deadline for teampage on the platform and for your hotels name in your teamsheetn. You can upgrade the teampage later-on, but it should be ready for now and will be evaluated now.
> 16.00 - 17.00 work on the assignment (a big one!) and look ahead to the rest of the tasks.
- Task 6: Tuesday 1th October (year 1) - Day of Creativity
On this first day your team will demonstrate its creativity and thereby present the new hotel in a more promising strategic direction, as well as distinguishing your hotel from your competitors.

> 10.00 - 11.00 Central meeting: results year 0, instruction on year 1.
> 11.00 - 12.00 Coaches available for questions.
> 11.00 - 14.30 Preparations for Trade Fair, work on decisions and explanations.
> 14.30 - 16.00 Participation in Trade Fair and presenting your new hotel and working on your assignment on the Trade Fair.
> 16.00 Deadline for decisions and explanations in explanations form for year 1 both to be done in your teamsheet. Read the page secure section link and use your secret link to fill your decisions out. You will absolutely have to read the page decisions as to get a grip on things.

- Task 7: Wednesday 2th October (year 2) - Day of Calculations
Analyze the results, the operational costs made and the key indicators for your hotel. On this day, focus on the calculations a manager often has to make. "Financial language" is key in the hotel sector. Further, linking these to benchmarks is crucial to profitability. After receiving your first results (on year 1) you need to study them, in order to decide on how to react in the next year.

> 11.00 - 16.00 Analysis of the results, make new decisions etc. make a dashboard for Christina and hand that in printed out at 16.00. Work on your assignment.

- Task 8: Thursday 3th October (year 3) - Day of Managing the Company
The managing of a hotel relies heavily on the ability to communicate with customers as well as your staff, especially when "exceptional" situations arise. Expect a negative event (crisis) to happen this year. The hotel management will need to deal directly, actively and creatively with the event, as well as to take timely decisions to resolve it.

> 11.00 - 12.00 Coaches available for feedback and questions
> 11.00 - 16.00 Resolve management issues; pricing decisions, adjust team page. Work on your assignment make new decisions!.
> 16.00 Deadline for decisions and explanations in explanations form for year 3 both to be done in the secure section. Read the page Explaining secure section and use your secret link to fill them out. You will absolutely have to read the page decisions as to get a grip on things.
> 16.00 - 17.00 work on the assignment and look ahead to the rest of the tasks. Tomorrow is going to be a really packed day, so we suggest you to work on your 3 minutes of fame now (or in the evening) as well!
- Task 9: Friday 4th October (year 4) - Day of Promotion
On this day your team will show how to sell its services and make hotel promotions attractive through the use of internet and social media. The competitions finish today. Final results will be determined and the teams with the most profit and that were the most creative will be awarded.

> 09.00 - 10.00 Central meeting: results year 3, instruction on year 4
> 10.00 - 11.00 Coaches available for feedback and questions
> 10.00 - 12.00 Team preparation of 3 minutes of fame; pricing decisions, adjust team page etc.
> 12.00 Deadline for decisions and explanations in explanations form for year 4 both to be done in the secure section. Read the page Explaining secure section and use your secret link to fill them out. You will absolutely have to read the page decisions as to get a grip on things.
> 13.00 - 15.00 Presentations for 3 minutes of fame all teammembers are in. Take notes or your assignment as well.
> 16.00 - 17.00 Game Final: Award Ceremony.
> 17.00 After the game final we kindly ask you to evaluate the game by filling out the handed out questionnaire; it helps us to further improve the game!
- Task 10: After the game final: Questionnaire
The assignment is part of this game and important for your final mark: it is worth 50% of your total mark. You can finish this document in the next days and hand it in at the international office, printed out: deadlines on Wednesday 17.00.
