General information on the assignment
The group assignment has 3 parts. Be sure to work on this assignment seriously. Do not postpone this till after the final: start working on this already during the game week!
Please fill the answers out in your explanations form: there is room for this at the end of the document. If, by instruction or own choice , you make the assignment on a tab in your Team File, be sure to put the link in the proper section at the end of your Explanations Form.
This assignment will get evaluated and has a 50% weight on your final mark. Be sure to write specific, in a business-style and give your sources. For any questions on this you can consult your lecturers on financial management: Arion van Ingen and Joyce Krielen. An indication is to have 2 pages on each of the 3 parts, so all together 6 pages of real content.
Be clear and detailed
For all of the figures give all of the calculations, explain all of your choices, why did you do it this way, way did you choose these figures, what is the relevance of the outcome, look at a benchmark (compare it to other figures to explain the relevance of the outcome). Give your sources(! with their links)for all calculations and figures.
Mind the notation of the figures: use € and 1.000 or 1,000 etc. in the proper way. Round up if necessarily: it's up to you to decide on this, this also shows that you understand the relevance of any outcome! Do this for all three parts and sub parts. Write in a concrete and clear way to show knowledge of the subject.

As we want you to show your financial knowledge, you can make the assignment in Dutch.
Handing in
The deadline is Friday May 16 at 17.00: this means you are NO longer allowed to work on the assignment after 17.00; this will be checked. All changes and editing times are stored automatically -- working after the deadline is considered as fraud. You will use your explanations form (last part) to answer all of the questions below. You will find these questions in there as well. You can use a combination with an an additional tab in your Team File.
Starting as soon as possible with this assignment is recommended, in week 20 there is specific time to focus on this.

The most logical person to help you on this is your teacher on financial management. You will follow this subject during the simulation as well and have some classes.
Starting before the final?
Yes, this is possible. The most challenging thing in the assignment is the structure and the way you will work on the calculations. Once you have made this, adding the last your (round four) after the finals is not all that complicated.

- Calculate for all four years the number of guestnights for weekend and weekdays. Check the general Occupancy_rate and persons per Rooms on your hotel's Team File.

Look for ratios which can be derived from your hotel's results over the years, and determine the trends in these results.

- Calculate (derived from the total revenues) the revenue per room in the weekend and weekdays during each of the four years. Use the system of integral and differential cost price.
