Your tasks during the game week
Tasks during the game week 11, Wednesday 13th March - Sunday 16th March
All the sessions during the game week are very useful and compulsory (and often fun, of course). Tasks 1 to 4 should have been done in the time before this week: see Game_08LV_home.
- Task 5: Monday 6th October (year 1) - Preparations
On this first day your team will demonstrate its creativity and thereby present the new hotel in a more promising strategic direction, as well as distinguishing your hotel from your competitors.
> 09.00 - 13.00 Meet with your team, work on teampage; be sure it is ready by the end of the day. Be sure to bring down the size of pictures or photo's used to 150kb. Check shrinking pictures.
> 13.00 - 14.00 Central Kick off! All in, your staff is available for questions.
> 13.00 - 16.00 Work on finishing your teampage in the platform, work on your social media and website. If timr available: check and start filling out your (secret) Team File. You can change any decision as often as you want until the deadline.
> 13.00 - 16.00 Prepare the Trade Fair: be sure to have all things ready and set for tomorrow!
> 16.00 Deadline for Team File on the platform and for your hotel name in your Team File.
> 16.00 - 17.00 work on a company-website, social media accounts etc. and look ahead to the rest of the tasks.

- Task 6: Tuesday 7th October (year 1) - Day of Creativity
On this first day your team will demonstrate its creativity and thereby present the new hotel in a more promising strategic direction, as well as distinguishing your hotel from your competitors.
> 09.00 - 10.00 Meet with your team, work on decisions and explanations year 1 in your Team File using the secret link.
> 10.00 - 11.00 Central meeting: results year 0, instruction on year 1.
> 11.00 - 12.00 Coaches available for questions.
> 11.00 - 14.00 Preparations for Trade Fair, work on decisions and explanations of year one in your Team File.
> 14.00 - 15.00 Participation in Trade Fair and presenting your new hotel and working on your tasks linked to the Trade Fair.
> 16.00 Deadline for decisions and explanations for year 1 both to be done in your Team File, including a reflection on the Trade Fair.
> 16.00 - 17.00 work on a company-website, social media accounts etc. and look ahead to the rest of the tasks.

- Task 7: Wednesday 8th October (year 2) - Day of Calculations
Analyze the results, the operational costs made and the key indicators for your hotel. On this day, focus on the calculations a manager often has to make. "Financial language" is key in the hotel sector. Further, linking these to benchmarks is crucial to profitability. After receiving your first results (on year 1) you need to study them, in order to decide on how to react in the next year.

> 11.00 - 12.00 Coaches available for feedback and questions
> 11.00 - 16.00 Analysis of the results, make new decisions and explanations etc. make a dashboard for Christina and fill this out via your Team File..
> 16.00 Deadline for all decisions and all explanations for year 02 to be done in your Team File, including your dashboard.
> 16.00 - 17.00 work on a company-website, social media accounts etc. and look ahead to the rest of the tasks.

- Task 8: Thursday 9th October (year 3) - Day of Managing the Company
The managing of a hotel relies heavily on the ability to communicate with customers as well as your staff, especially when "exceptional" situations arise. Expect a negative event (crisis) to happen this year. The hotel management will need to deal directly, actively and creatively with the event, as well as to take timely decisions to resolve it.
> 09.00 - 10.00 Meet with your team, work on decisions and explanations.
> 10.00 - 11.00 Central meeting: results year 2, instruction on year 3
> 11.00 - 12.00 Coaches available for feedback and questions
> 11.00 - 16.00 Analysis of the results, make new decisions and explanations. Resolve the management issue presented, do all this in the Team File.
> 16.00 Deadline for all decisionsand explanations in for year 3 to be done in the tamsheet, including the management issue.
> 16.00 - 17.00 work on a company-website, social media accounts etc. Look ahead to the rest of the tasks:
tomorrow is going to be a really packed day, so we suggest you to work on your 3 minutes of fame now (or in the evening) as well!
- Task 9: Friday 10th October (year 4) - Day of Promotion
On this day your team will show how to sell its services and make hotel promotions attractive through the use of internet and social media. The competitions finish today. Final results will be determined and the teams with the most profit and that were the most creative will be awarded.
> 08.00 - 09.00 !So one hour earlier! Meet with your team, work on decisions and explanations.
> 09.00 - 10.00 Central meeting: results year 3, instruction on year 4
> 10.00 - 11.00 Coaches available for feedback and questions
> 10.00 - 12.00 Team deciding on decisions and explanations in for year 4 to be done in Team File, including information on your promotion (part 15)
> 12.00 Deadline for decisions and explanations for year 4 both to be done in the Team File, including a plan for the promotion.
> 12.00 - 14.00 Team preparation of 3 minutes of fame
> 14.00 - 15.00 Presentations for 3 minutes of fame all teammembers are in.
> 16.00 - 17.00 Game Final: Award Ceremony.
