Building a website and making a video pitch

You have been working on the new concept and strategy for almost two years now. However, the hotel's website is still lagging tremendously. Now is the time to give it a serious workout. Matching all the other choices, the spirit of the times, the house style, your strategic choices, at responsible costs, etc. Visitors of your website want to see as much as possible of your hotel. So, you ned to have a video which 'pitches' your hotel towards the customers-website visitors, and which makes the visitors trust the new strategy and management team.

Situation

The website EmeraldForestHotel.com as it is still 'visible' now is very old-fashioned and just bad. It is no use to you trying to upgrade this one. So you make a new one from scratch.
On this website should be a video pitch as well. Before, you have done a re-opening campaign and a Trade Fair, now we want you to make a video pitch for your hotel.

Goal

Making a hotel website for your hotel, matching the strategy of your hotel and having a number of features hotel websites need.
A video pitch is meant to convince people, that you, as the new management Team, are capable of running the hotel and the the new strategy is well-thought over.

Task, deliverable

You are allowed to use a template (Wix, Wordpress, Myshop etc) as long as you adapt it to your hotel. Make it as realistic as possible and be sure it is visible live and without restrictions.
Focus more on content and house style and menu, rather than on techniques. Beware of IP rights!
The video pitch should be uploaded on YouTube, try to 'embed' it on the website as well. If this doesn't work or is to complicated, put an image of the video in the proper spot and put the link tot he video underneath. The video is more then just a promo-video, it should also build trust in you, as management, in the future and your new plans. It should be less then 90 seconds; there has to be (some) spoken text by the management, info on the management, on the plans, on the results so far, an intro and outro. Beware of Copyright!

Handing in

  • Be sure the website is public.
  • Copy the link (only the link) to the website in your Team File, tab Year 1-2-3-4, row 47 additional information for your coach, cell E47.
  • Be sure the file is freely accessible without logging in or anything, just the click on the link should open it!
  • Upload the video on YouTube, be sure it is visible by link or public to anyone, without any login. Copy this link to the same cell E47.

You work in the cloud: no need to save (done automatically) or hand-in your Team File. Just be sure it is ready, well before the deadline. Furthermore, all other relevant information for your coach is welcome in this cell as well!
