Your tasks during the game week
Tasks during the game week 11, Wednesday 13th March - Sunday 16th March
All the sessions during the game week are very useful and compulsory (and often fun, of course). Tasks 1 to 4 should have been done in the time before this week: see Game_08LV_home.
- Task 5: Monday 6th October (year 01) - Preparations
On this first day your team will demonstrate its creativity and thereby present the new hotel in a more promising strategic direction, as well as distinguishing your hotel from your competitors.
> 09.00 - 13.00 Meet with your team, work on teampage; be sure it is ready by the end of the day. Be sure to bring down the size of pictures or photo's used to 150kb. Check shrinking pictures.
> 13.00 - 14.00 Central Kick off! All in, your staff is available for questions.
> 13.00 - 16.00 Check and start filling out your teamsheet: your teamname start working on your decisions and explanation (secret link). You can change any decision as often as you want until the deadline. Work on your teampage in this platform.
> 13.00 - 16.00 Prepare the Trade Fair: be sure to have all things ready and set for tomorrow!
> 16.00 Deadline for teampage on the platform and for your hotels name in your teamsheet. You can upgrade the teampage later-on, but it should be ready for now and will be evaluated now.
> 16.00 - 17.00 work on a company-website, social media accounts etc. and look ahead to the rest of the tasks.

- Task 6: Tuesday 7th October (year 01) - Day of Creativity
On this first day your team will demonstrate its creativity and thereby present the new hotel in a more promising strategic direction, as well as distinguishing your hotel from your competitors.

> 10.00 - 11.00 Central meeting: results year 00, instruction on year 01.
> 11.00 - 12.00 Coaches available for questions.
> 11.00 - 14.00 Preparations for Trade Fair, work on decisions and explanations of year one.
> 14.00 - 15.00 Participation in Trade Fair and presenting your new hotel and working on your tasks linked to the Trade Fair.
> 16.00 Deadline for decisions and explanations in explanations form for year 01 both to be done in your teamsheet. Read the page secure section link and use your secret link to fill out your decisions. You will absolutely have to read the page decisions as to get a grip on things.

- Task 7: Wednesday 8th October (year 02) - Day of Calculations
Analyze the results, the operational costs made and the key indicators for your hotel. On this day, focus on the calculations a manager often has to make. "Financial language" is key in the hotel sector. Further, linking these to benchmarks is crucial to profitability. After receiving your first results (on year 01) you need to study them, in order to decide on how to react in the next year.

> 11.00 - 12.00 Coaches available for feedback and questions
> 11.00 - 16.00 Analysis of the results, make new decisions etc. make a dashboard for Christina and fill this out on in your decisions.
> 16.00 Deadline for all decisions and all explanations in explanations form for year 02 including your dashboard.
> 16.00 - 17.00 work on the assignment and look ahead to the rest of the tasks.

- Task 6: Friday 14th March (year 02) - Day of Calculations

- Task 7: Saturday 15th March (year 03) - Day of Managing the Company
The managing of a hotel relies heavily on the ability to communicate with customers as well as your staff, especially when "exceptional" situations arise. Expect a negative event (crisis) to happen this year. The hotel management will need to deal directly, actively and creatively with the event, as well as to take timely decisions to resolve it.

- Task 8: Sunday 16th March (year 04) - Day of Promotion
On this day your team will show how to sell its services and make hotel promotions attractive through the use of internet and social media. The competitions finish today. Final results will be determined and the teams with the most profit and that were the most creative will be awarded.
